Introduction to Music – ½ credit A course in music theory and history designed to help students develop their understanding and appreciation of various forms and styles of music. General Art – ½ credit Along with music, this course fulfills credit for the NY State requirement in Fine Arts. This is a basic theory and practice course aimed at teaching techniques in drawing, design, composition, and spatial/color theory. Introduction to Photoshop – ½ credit An introductory course designed to give students an understanding of the different tools and features available in Photoshop. Students will familiarize themselves with image creation and editing using Adobe software. All students are required to purchase a 1GB flashdrive. Final projects may be printed and displayed. Senior Art – ½ credit This course is designed for students who have not yet completed the NY State art credit or for students electing to take Photoshop and Art to complete the credit elective. This course will develop techniques in various art genre including sculpture and painting, and drawing and design. Advanced Senior Art (Illustration and Painting) – 1 credit This is a course created for the serious artist, especially those students who have a desire to a career in the visual arts. Students will develop skills in Illustration and Painting using different mediums. Each student will be required to develop a portfolio. |
